Wai Khru Day-June 24,

The day started with a lot of excitement for both teachers and students.The students were busy making the "Paans" and were enjoying it."Wai Khru" in Thai language means paying respect to the teacher.They give floral offerings to the teachers who in turn tie a string on their wrists to bless them.Here are some pics from the Wai Khru ceremony at Yonok University.

The last week has been truly amazing.On Thursday my ENGL 101 students sang "Trouble is a friend".It was great to see their energy.I am sure to use more songs in the classroom.And then there was the welcome program for the freshies,it was fun.Some pics from all these events.

Had a great time last Saturday going to Chiangmai to celebrate my daughter's birthday party at Latin Club.It was nice meeting up with old friends and making new friends.It was a great evening.

A great semester at Yonok

This semester I have great students and I feel very motivated to teach them.They are equally motivated and I am using a lot of Techy stuff in the classroom.I am also palnning on doing classroom research on student portfolios as a means of alternative assessment.My ENGL 101 students are terrific!Here are some pics from their classrooms and activities.
